London Band Lucky Victims launch campaign to save Cowshed Studios

When White Stripes came across the pond to record their 2003 album "Elephant" there were only two recording studios that could fit the bill. Now one of those studios, London's historic "Cowshed Studio" is being threatened by a landlord and his plans to build a block of flats.

However there has been a huge surge of support for this unique studio. Bands like LUCKY VICTIMS & White Stripes swear by the analog equipment that the Cowshed houses to get that special"warm" sound. LUCKY VICTIMS's Nick Of Time says

"the sound of our album has been described as'epic' and that has gotta be in large part due to the vintage analog signal-path at Cowshed. It's like ****ing Aladdin's cave!"

In fact, some of the classic gear at the Cowshed is worthy of the status of national treasure including it's Amek Angela console, Otari "2-inch" 24-track and of course the famous Neve pre-amps. As LUCKY VICTIMS's Kitty La Roar says,

"don't let them bulldoze the Cowshed!"

London Band Lucky Victims will have their poster on Freddie’s bedroom wall in episode 9 of the hit E4 show SKINS this Thursday (19/02/09).

LUCKY VICTIMS are Kitty La Roar & Nick Of Time. By night they are the not so secret super-heroes of the alternative cabaret scene for their twisted Mashup show (played Hugh Hefner’s 80th birthday party). By day they are LUCKY VICTIMS and after spending 6 months recording in Cowshed Studios, London the band have released their debut album.
